Pictured below is a Porcelain Tiled floor at a property in Dursley where the grout had become stained. The pictures are not my best however safe to say the homeowner was so unhappy with the grout I was asked to pop round as soon as possible to do something about it.

These particular tiles were designed to give a concrete effect and like all Porcelain tiles were very resilient and very easy to keep clean. However, what tends to happen is the dirt from the tile is washed into the grout line during cleaning and unfortunately due to its rough nature gets stuck on the surface of the grout causing it to darken.

I visited the customer and discussed how I would go about cleaning her grout lines and tiles sent a detailed quote over and she agreed straight away, a date was set to commence.
Deep Cleaning Stained Grout on Concrete Effect Porcelain Tiles
To get the grout clean a strong dilution of Tile Doctor Pro-Clean was sprayed onto the floor and left to soak in for ten minutes. To achieve the best result the floor was then scrubbed by hand with extra focus on the grout lines.
This process lifts the soiling out of the grout and into the solution where it is rinsed away with water and then extracted with a wet vacuum. The tile and grout was inspected and then any stubborn areas spot cleaned until I was happy with its condition.
Several air blowers were deployed to speed up drying and later that day I was able to apply a sealer which will prevent dirt from sticking to the grout and allow it to keep its appearance. I used Tile Doctor Ultra-Seal sealer for this; it’s an impregnator which is invisible so it doesn’t alter the appearance of the grout and being an impregnator it soaks into the grout occupying the pores and ensuring dirt remains on the surface where is can be easily cleaned away.

Once finished my customer took a look and was very pleased with the improvement say she thought it looked “amazing” which is always nice to here. To protect the new sealer, I left the customer with a complimentary bottle of Neutral Tile Cleaner and provided instructions on how to maintain floor.
